How to Layer Clothes for Fall

thanks to reader Jen for this great suggestion. i don't claim to be an expert on this topic but i do have a good friend who is. she has passed on so many gems that i can't thank her enough. it's one of those things that you don't realize simply rolling up your sleeves can add a little chic, until she shows you.

i felt really weird posting this so please please please be kind. you get to see my room, my closet, and that mess of belts/scarfs/ties/robes/buckles hanging from the back of my closet door. and something about having to step on a stool so you could see the lower half of my body brought me back to 2nd grade (i had a teacher reprimand me for not standing up, and was then apologetic because she realized i WAS standing)

have i told you guys lately that i love you? because i do.

  1. Love that you are standing on a stool! You are too cute, Kristie!

I have to admit, when I saw that you were going to pair the turquoise t-shirt with the flannel, I was skeptical. Thank you for proving me wrong, because it looks adorable! I need to remember that things don't always have to "match", they just need to "go".

  2. I am so anxious to layer! Still too hot here. Ugh.

  3. That was great! Love the last outfit, and your hair looks so soft!
That story about the teacher reprimanding you for not standing up is too funny, the same thing happened to a boy in my class when I was in junior high. Plus, it was in a science class, where the tables were higher. The teacher got angry at him because she didn't believe him and thought he was being a smart aleck :)

  4. Thanks for the ideas! We had some family pictures taken today and I needed suggestions!!!

  5. Wow! I love the layered look. Where do you go to get those cute v-neck t-shirts?

  6. LOVE the outfits help! I wish I could steal you for a few hours and have you help me go through my closet to put outfits together!! Matching shoes, with jewelry, with pants, with tops, and layering...AHHHHHH!! Love the cute looks!
