this week's favorite is the Foster Contrast Cardigan Sweater by Gentle Fawn. the quality is amazing, the comfort is unreal and the style is perfection. a casual looseness makes it comfortable while the mix of neutral tones makes it a flexible layering piece. i have been wearing it over t-shirts topped with collared shirts and paired with a comfy jegging.

this week's Fashion Friday i am sharing some of my Sunday Style. every week women across the world consider this question 'What should I wear to church today?'. well ladies, i have a #SundayEdit hashtag on my Instagram which shows you what i wore for just that occasion. whether i am feeling trendy, casual, business or fun - it is all reflected in my outfit. this particular Sunday I was preparing to guide 90 children ages 4-12 through a one hour Primary Program, i meant business.
one of my favorite things about this outfit is the hat. a great piece for windy or rainy days to protect some precious locks, it is also a comfy felt wool which keeps your nugget cozy in the winter. i purchased it from one of my favorite bloggers - Ascot Friday. she curates an online clothing store where you can pick up pieces that she and a friend have carefully selected. i have always eye their shop from a distance but when i saw this hat i had to pull the trigger. you can find more at Ascot + Hart.
i know, i know - the 'experts' say you can't wear white after Labor Day but thankfully those rules are being broken. try pairing together your favorite nudes for the chicest combinations this fall and winter. say goodbye to fashion rules and do what feels best. i can tell you right now i will be rocking these white pants all the way through winter.
this fall there are a few things i love. buffalo check shirts, puffer vest, brown boots and gold accessories. putting together an outfit post featuring all of my favorite things in one place? a dream come true. thankfully the universe didn't implode from all my favorite things combining into one and my style post was created.
gold accents with black make for my dream combo when styling for fall. gold brings a warmth to the dark colors and adds some sunshine to your wardrobe. a gold watch is an essential item for your wardrobe (as is a silver) that you can interchange depending on what you are wearing.

can we discuss the fact that it is OCTOBER and still 80 degrees? if you have ever been to the Oregon Coast you know to expect cool breezes and cool temps, particularly in the fall. last weekend the Blushing Basics fam headed to Seaside for a weekend and were met with 80 degree temps and fun in the sun. thankfully this meant i could still wear my new Vince Camuto sandals (yay!) and it gave me an opportunity to bring out my lightweight jacket from Athleta.
i one hundred percent love the Oregon coast. having grown up in Washington state it brings back memories of childhood vacations with family and friends. Tman and i had so much fun walking the boardwalk with the kids, eating ice cream, riding bumper cars and playing arcade games. there's something special about being with your husband and kids, spending time with them and enjoying life in that moment.
i had a friend post recently about finding happiness where you are in life, whether it is in school, training, job hunting, wherever. i'll admit i have thought to myself 'life will get easier once we are out of the military', or 'once Trever completes his Residency', or 'once we live closer to family'. well guess what? it is never easier, just different. i have tried my best to really embrace and enjoy every phase of life but i do have to admit this one is my favorite. sure Tman works like crazy, my kids have me driving every direction and i am juggling a little more than i can handle. but when i look at the bigger picture i have so many things to be thankful for it makes my heart burst.
one of my favorite people was just diagnosed with breast cancer and that is only one of the many trials she has faced in the last year and yet she still has the outlook that her life is pretty perfect. no one is without trials or difficulties but our attitude in facing them helps determine the outcome. i feel like my life is pretty perfect, not because of my material possessions but because of my amazing and supportive husband, loving adorable children, family who are my best friends and too many blessings to count.
hopefully you can see that your life is pretty perfect too.

i love love love the combination of black, white and denim. love it. in fact i want to have babies with it i love it so much. little black and white denim clad babies. if you look in my closet the primary colors you will find are black, white and denim. maybe i have a problem.
whatever it is, it is a problem i don't mind having.
pairing this denim jacket - a staple that works with everything - with this faux snakeskin skirt is a great combo. add in interesting elements like my Queen t-shirt, pointy toed stilettos and my white (faux) leather purse. these Ray-Bans were completely worth the purchase. i get so much use out of my gold mirrored Ray-Ban Aviators that i figured it was time to invest in some silver mirrored ones as well. i am glad i did.
silver is making a comeback this winter and investing in some silver jewelry or bringing back some old pieces you haven't worn for a while is a great addition to your wardrobe.
