DIY Facial Exfoliation

one of the best ways to ward off blackheads and prevent pimples is to exfoliate your skin regularly. this helps remove that top layer of dead skin cells and makeup that could clog your pores. buying exfoliating products can be expensive and having facials done professionally can be even more expensive! here is a video showing how to do this yourself with Baking Soda (the magical box, it can do anything). even i was surprised at how well it exfoliated my skin and left it feeling smooth. having had the expensive treatments done, i was very impressed with the results.

  1. My sister swears by honey and baking soda. Is it bad to do this every day? Or is the baking soda gentle enough?

  3. Lovin the look of your new blog!! Kev got me the clarisonic Mia for my birthday and I am in love! I wonder if baking soda would be too harsh to use with it...I will have to try.:)

  4. Thank you for the congrats on your last post and thanks for this tutorial! I already have everything at home so I'm planning on trying it soon. I also recently purchased the Belli Acne Cleansing Facial Wash which is supposed to be good for pregnant women so I'm hoping it works well.
I have a Clarisonic Pro that I use with the Belli face wash and it works great to make my skin feel clear!

  5. Kamaile, i probably wouldn't do this everyday, it might be too rough for your skin. i think once a week would probably be plenty.

Stef, carmex is a great idea/substitute. i'll give it a try.

Ally, thanks. jealous that you have the clarisonic. i've been wanting that :) i miss you too. just waiting to hear news about a new baby...

Emily, let me know what you think of the scrub. plus i would like to know how you like the Clarisonic Pro. worth the investment?
