Halloween Happenings

“This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group®, PEOPLE Magazine & Hershey’s, but all my opinions are my own. #HersheysPeople #pmediahttp://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO

many of you know that the Blushing Basics household has recently moved from the great state of Colorado to the evergreen state of Washington. somewhere in that move i have tried to find time to continue to be creative and work on my blog as well as turn my new house into a home. as a wife and mother, turning our house into a place my family feels happy and secure is top priority. as a blogger, continuing to generate ideas and posts is a close second.

Halloween is one of my favorite times of year and i love decorating my home with pumpkins, spiders, ghosts and candy - lots and lots of candy. because i currently have no clue where my box full of Halloween decorations is located, i am starting from scratch. thankfully a quick trip to Target helped me pick up the necessary items to create a little festivity in our home.

my first stop was the candy aisle (natch) where i picked up several bags of candy. sure, i set a few of those aside for trick-or-treaters but i picked out my favorite Hershey's Dish Candy to set out for quick bites of delicious goodness. i happened to stumble upon a new flavor of Pumpkin Hershey Kisses and those bite-sized goodies are divine. in addition to being a great treat, Hershey's Dish Candy works well for some added decoration.

my second stop consisted of some basic Halloween decorations: tablecloths and tissue paper. a while ago i discovered some great DIY tutorials on how to create streamers and tissue paper balls and they are the easiest, quickest, and chicest way to decorate anything.

i made one last stop on my way out of Target to grab a PEOPLE Magazine (pick up a coupon here for $2 off your purchase while supplies last). after all the decorating and holiday making i still need to take a few moments to get some inspiration for current trends, style, what's happening in the world of star's. taking a moment to enjoy a PEOPLE Magazine is 'market research', or at least how i like to justify it (insert winking emoji here).

what makes it all worth it is when your kids come home from school with a smile on their face because they love their freshly decorated home - and you're happy because you had those necessary moments of 'me time' in the meantime.
