here's a quick review of basic lip shapes a la Kevyn Aucoin:

Natural - enough said.

Cupid's Bow - more exaggerated and feminine. draw your curves inside and outside natural lip line.

the Smear - classic 1940's lip by drawing outside the peaks on the top lip.

Uni-lip - no peaks on your top lip, just full and voluptuous.

Nude Lip - enhancing your Natural lip with a nude lipstick.

Bee Sting - early 1920's style, costumey.

Glamour Girl - overdraw you top lip to heighten seductiveness
