Clarisonic Giveaway

this could be yours!
i am ridiculously excited to be offering this giveaway to Blushing Basics readers for several reasons:

  1. Clarisonic is THE name in skincare.
  2. this is the latest and greatest Clarisonic product.
  3. you guys are awesome and i am so excited to give you a chance to win!
as i mentioned above, Clarisonic just recently launched its Acne Clarifying Collection which includes the Acne Clarifying Cleansing Set (valued at $47). included in the Cleansing Set are the Acne Clarifying Brush Head and the Acne Daily Clarifying Cleanser. ideally, Clarisonic brush heads are meant to be replaced every three months (but i won't blame you for extending that time) and this is a great solution for a replacement head.

Clarisonic (i heart you) sent me the latest Mia and Acne Clarifying Cleansing Set to exclusively test for a two week period. during this time i will be hosting a giveaway for you to win your very own Clarisonic Acne Clarifying Collection (valued at $169) and the Clarisonic Acne Clarifying Cleansing Set.

to enter:

leave a comment below sharing your acne-related story. you are allowed one entry throughout the entire review period and i will randomly select a winner at the end of the two weeks.

this is the first of four posts i will write regarding my experience with the Acne Clarifying Cleansing Set. each post will link back to this original post for giveaway entry.

for an extra chance to win, Clarisonic will also be giving away the Acne Clarifying Cleansing Set. tweet @Clarisonic about you favorite model and let them know how it has revolutionized your skincare routine. be sure to use the hashtag#ClarisonicLove. each reader who tweets will automatically be entered into an overarching Clarisonic Sweepstakes for which one winner will receive a year supply of brush heads of their choice. score!

be sure to comment below for your chance to win.

  2. I recently went off the pill and for the first time in my life, i got acne, like severe acne! I've tried everything and somethings have helped a bit but have also dried out my skin reallly badly too! I've heard good things about the clarisonic for helping acne and I would LOVE to try it and finally clear up my skin once and for all!

  3. This is an awesome giveaway! i would love to win it. I was lucky growing up that i didn't really have acne (except one big stress zit between my eyes every finals week. killer). Since I have become an adult, my skin is always breaking out! I hate it!

  4. I have suffered with acne since my mid 20's (now early 30's). Never had acne has a teen. I recently stopped hormonal birth control to see if it helps.

  6. I always have mild acne that won't go away. I tried so many products including supplements. I have tried hydrating and drying product, but none worked for me so far. I have always been thinking to try Clarisonic. But since I am a student it is beyond my budget, so it would be awesome for me to win this giveaway.

  7. Hi Kristie! I didn't have skin issues as a teen, but they've been plaguing me recently. I think it really depends on what I eat / stress too. Sigh! Thanks for organizing this giveaway!

  8. What a fabulous giveaway Kristie!! Thank you for the opportunity! So I am now in my early 30s, and as a teen suffered from acne, but went throughout most of my twenties with clear-ish skin. But now I deal with it again! And here I thought I had grown out of it:( I do find that other factors such as hormones, diet, and most importantly skin care make a huuuge difference!! I have really been paying a lot more attention to my skin care regime - investing in really good products and a lot more natural products too - just wish I could go back to my 20 year old self and start younger! alas.... lol! xox janna

  9. Thanks for this opportunity! I just found you from twitter! :)

Honestly, my acne story is totally annoying. Growing up, even through puberty, I had ZERO acne. I thought I had skipped all that nonsense but nope, It all crept up on me when I turned 18! How weird, right? Since then (it's been about 5 years now), I've been struggling to keep in under control. I've even gone as far as giving up wearing make up for the past 4 years. I have used a Clarisonic (a friends) and it did work wonderfully but I just can't afford something like this. So thank you for being so generous!

    Have a wonderful day!

  10. I never had acne until my 30's, and now at 48 I still have the occasional cystic breakout. I've done medication, peels, special cleansers, and still occasionally suffer. I have heard WONDERFUL things about the Clarisonic! But, as a single mom of two kids, haven't been able to afford one. I would LOVE the opportunity to try this amazing product!

  11. I agree with Lisa, in my 40's I still get cystic breakouts around my period.

  12. I've had acne since I hit puberty years ago! It's so very annoying. Now in my early 30s I still get monthly breakouts and some cystic breakouts from time to time as well. I have oily AND dry skin, so a good mix and it's just awful. This would be so awesome to have!!

  13. I keep hearing such wonderful reviews of the Clarisonic cleansing systems and I would love to try it myself. I have had acne since my 20's and I'm now middle age. I didn't have much trouble with acne as a teenager, but then adult acne set in and it has been a battle ever since. As most women my age are now concerned with fine lines and wrinkles, I am still dealing with acne and hyperpigmentation. The thought of finding a way to to age gracefully sounds awesome. Of course I hope to win, but I also wish everyone good luck in this contest and a big THANKS to Blushingbasics.com for sponsoring this giveaway!

  14. What an amazing give-away. I've always wanted to buy myself one of these but could justify spending so much on one thing even if the rave reviews are right. I think it would really help my skin so much. Good Luck to everyone:)

  15. My acne story began when I was 14 and I'm not 28 and still battling it. I went on acutane (cleared up my skin but it was SCARY and I would never do it again). I have tried countless ointments and pills. My skin isn't terrible now, just a few breakouts here and there. I have been loving La Roche Posay & Murad. I have always wanted to buy one of these, but haven't been able to justify spending that much.

  16. Oh, fantastic giveaway! I have heard such amazing reviews about the Clarisonic but it is just so expensive for a student budget! I have had acne since I was 11 and I have literally tried everything and nothing works. I eat incredibly healthily, exercise, drink 2 litres of water a day, have a good skincare routine and my skin is still awful! Black heads, white heads, under-the-skin spots - you name it, I have it! My skin is the thing I'm most insecure about - I won't meet with friends when my skin is particularly bad, and it brings me to tears. So many people have raved about the Clarisonic for treating Acne so hopefully I will be lucky enough to be able to try it! Thank you so much lovely for giving me some hope to become acne-free! :) xxx

  17. I had horrible acne as a teen. My face, neck, chest and back. It was everywhere. I tried EVERYTHING, and ended up going on accutane for about 9 months. After the Accutane my skin definitely cleared, but I still had fairly bad flare ups every few weeks. Even in college my skin was acne proned. Everything I ate (sugar, grease, carbs and alcohol) seemed to have a strong effect on my skin. THANKFULLY by the time I graduated my acne seemed to be under control with the exception of a few hormonal breakouts during that oh so fun time of the month. Not so thankfully, my skin has become an oil slick. break outs aren't much of an issue, though I do still get them every now and again. But omg the oil. I've tried everything I can think of, and have just come to the realization that I'm completely having to take off foundation and re-apply around 3 pm for these 18 hour days I've been having. I would love to get a clarisonic, but just haven't been able to justify the investment!

  18. I've had acne forever, it seems. I always longed for the days when I was older (because women in their mid-late 30's don't have acne, right?). Now that I am here I see I was delusional. Thankfully, it has tamed down a bit, but about once a month (can't imagine when) I have serious cystic breakouts.

  19. I've had acne since I was 15, now I'm 27. When I was 19 I took accutane, it works great for a few years. Then I had two kids and it got a little worse. Last year I went through two rounds of chemo and my skin was horrible! It's better now, but I always have breakouts, I don't remember the last time it was totally clear. I would love to try this product!

  21. I have been quite lucky to not suffer from acne a majority of my life... but about a year ago my skin flared up and I basically had a plant growing on my face :( I mostly get it due to hormones and such, (around that time of the month...) but I do have a problem with redness, scaring, and other unwanted pigmentation on my face. I was hoping that the clarisonic would help clear it up....

    Awesome giveaway!

  22. I have battled acne constantly for over 12 years now! I am 32 with 4 kiddos and I feel like I have never looked uglier in my life! I have had 6 chemical peels and have tried every cream you can imagine from drugstore to high quality expensive stuff. I have wanted to try the clarisonic for a while now but was afraid it would be too abrasive. I am so excited that you are trying it out first!!! I hope you love it and that I win and that it helps me!!

  28. I've battled acne my entire life. It's really affected my confidence, and even caused me to skip my prom in highschool, due to a break-out. Years later, I've spent tons of money on foundations, concealers, skincare lotions potions and creams, all with varying results. Now that I'm pregnant with my 2nd child, I don't want to use chemicals and additives on my skin, found in many skincare products. I'd love a Natural, easy, pampering way to keep my skin healthy and clear. I would love to stay beautiful with Clarisonic!

  33. I never had any problems with my skin until my 30s, and now I'm working on aging AND breakouts. Fun, right? For the past year I've been using Retin-A, which I've been pretty happy with, but this also makes my skin more sensitive and dry. I also find as I get older that my skin scars more easily and that it takes longer for dark spots to fade after a breakout. I'm thinking some exfoliation and deeper cleaning with a Clarisonic might help on both fronts.

  37. I didn't really have an issue with acne, but recently my skin has become really oily, prone to breakouts, and unmanageable. It's a nightmare! 38. I never had to deal with acne until my early 20s. On my wedding day, my acne was the worst I've ever had. Photoshop was my best friend for my wedding pictures. I'm trying to get it under control and keep it at bay, but it's a never-ending process that takes a lot of diligence. I've always been interested in trying the Clarisonic, but have never had the money to spend on it.

  39. I would love this, I have always wanted to try, but just couldn't pull the trigger!! Since I had my kids I started getting "adult" acne? I break out on my chin pretty much twice a month - ovulation time and aunt flow time. It completely sucks!! I have tried a few different cleansers and many herbal and home remedies - nothing seems to work. Hopefully the Clarisonic can??!!!

  40. I never win, but I will share my story. As a teen, as you know I was overweight. To make it worse I had pimples galore and still do. Youd think with all the weight I would feel beautiful, truth is sometimes my acne hurts so bad when it does appear that I feel horrible about myself. I am so afraid to touch my face, drink anything with sugars, or even eat sweets. I just cried today because my skin looks HORRIBLE without makeup. Sometimes my skin glows, but days , in fact these past few weeks have been horrible :(

  41. GREAT giveaway. I love Clarisonic.

My acne story is that I NEVER had acne problems until after my first pregnancy. All of a sudden, a year after giving birth, my skin broke out like mad. Then, a few months later, when I got pregnant again, all the acne went away. Very frustrating. We'll see what happens after baby no. 2.

  44. I have had fairly clear skin since my teen years (I'm a whopping 32 now, lol!) but recently due to an accident I had to go on some medication that my skin is NOT agreeing with! All the sudden I have this embarrassingly bad looking skin and my normal skincare products (Clinique) are currently too harsh, I've found argan oil to be the most calming moisturizer EVER though, YAY :) and I'm assuming my skin will return to normal when I am healed and off my meds! dustbunni98@yahoo.com

  46. This is such an amazing giveaway, i have wanted a Clarisonic for soooo long but they are just too expenisve. I suffer quite badly from acne but it is mainly cysts on my nose and chin with lots of blackheads too. I have heard the Clarisonic works wonders for this sort of thing and i am desperate to try it. Very excited - thank you so much for giving it away x

  47. I am still a teenager at the moment lol and i didnt believe people when they said they had tried everything to get rid of their acne until i got acne, my skin is super strange and my friend let me try the clarisonic wand and the next day my skin was amazing and i'd just love to own my own

  48. I developed cystic acne as a young teenager and was prescribed oral acne medication that unfortunately made no difference in the tone and texture of my skin. I then tried all the latest gimmicks, including "shown on TV" skincare brands, but alas nothing worked. It was only when I realized that my acne wasn't just due to genetics (or bad luck, as I thought), but also flared up when I ate certain foods or used skincare products that contained certain ingredients, that I knew I could get more of a handle on it. I would love to use the Clarisonic to take my skin to that next level, so I appreciate the opportunity to win. XO

  50. Somehow I made it through my teenage years with clear skin, so I thought I'd dodged the acne bullet for life. Nope! Suddenly at 22, I started suffered major breakouts and it seemed like every acne product made them worse. Prescription-strength products left my skin dry, itchy and peeling. It's been a few years and I'm still looking for a solution! Maybe a Clarisonic and its acne regimen would help?

  55. I've always had some issues with breakouts - - just seems to go with the oily, big pore territory. In high school and college, I thought my little pimples were a nightmare, but I've actually had SO MUCH more trouble with acne in my adult years.

I get large, sore acne on my cheeks and along my jawline. They are painful and dark and just plain ugly. By the time one simmers down and starts becoming lighter, another two have sprung up. It's damaging to my self esteem but even more so to my skin as they scar up my face. :( Super frustrating. I would love to try this Clarisonic product and see if it helps.

I've been blessed to be pregnant for part of every calendar year since. Three babies later, my skin has suffered from the up and downs of hormones. I definitely need a new skin care regime, but other things have taken priority.

I went through two rounds of acutane and thankfully it helped with the severety of my acne, but sadly I can't remember what my face looks like without acne. With college coming up, I am really hoping to clear up my skin and try out this amazing product before I leave. If I won this giveaway it would mean so much! I have been looking at Clarisonic's product for quite some time now but at the moment my mother is out of a job and we can't really afford this amazing product. I have tried all sorts of topicals and perscriptions from my dermatoligist but nothing seems to be working. My acne isn't just a once a month thing, it is a daily burden that I deal with everyday... 66. I have had acne problems off and on since my teens. While getting facials to keep my acne at bay, I got a terrible infection and had to go on Acutane. While some I have heard that go on Acutane never get acne again, I was not so lucky. I am in my late 30s and still battling it, I use Retin A which is so harsh and drying. I wish there was a better way to not have teenage skin at my age. Now I also get these really huge painful nodules that build up under the skin and look horrible and swollen. 92. I have owned a clarisonic for over 3 years and never a day goes by that I don't use it. Since the day I first started, my skin has undergone an unbelievable transformation, the likes of which few could imagine. My fine lines are gone, my skin is healthy, taut and glowing. Although I have been blessed with good skin, knock on wood,I could not have maintained and improved the quality of my skin if not but for my best friend, my clarisonic.

My best friend's son suffers terribly from acne. Unfortunately, she can't afford such a luxury item and it breaks my heart because I know this clarisonic would help his skin condition immensely. If I could afford to purchase this on my own as a gift for this teenage boy, I would gladly do so. But I can't. If was to win one in this giveaway, this gift would be a gift to her son, a true blessing from the Angels, to this wonderful and beautiful teenager. Clearing up his acne would give him self confidence and his inner beauty would be able to radiate from within, so the rest of the world can see just how special and beautiful he really is. Thank you for this very generous giveaway and good luck to all!

  93. I never had problems with acne until I reached my thirties. Then I had problems on a monthly basis or if I was stressed. After being told after a facial that my makeup (MAC) was preventing my skin from "breathing", I switched to Bare Minerals and also changed my cleaning products. My skin is now healthy, beautiful, and best of all, mostly acne free! Even during times of stress and those monthly hormonal influxes.

I'd love to win this product to see if I can get my skin 99% acne free. Thanks!

And to top it off, I now have acne on my back, neck and chest too! 117. I have struggled with acne for most of my life and I still have to work very hard at controlling it. My skin is a lot better now, but I still have the scars, enlarged pores, and blackheads that will never truly go away. I also get breakouts here and there, but it is no where like it used to be. I had cystic acne all over and the kids were so mean for making fun of me! This one guy in high school called me cherry face. I felt so ugly and horrible about myself. I never wore foundation until post-high school. My parents never taught me or did anything to help me with my acne. I had to learn it all on my own and discovered pro-active through TV ads, which taught me about skincare regimes and also helped a lot with my acne. I don't use it anymore, but it had really helped me through my troubled youth.

  128. i high school i hardly had any acne, then came college and it just left so many dark marks on my face. I started using BE's Bare Minerals foundation to cover up, then near the end of college I had to switch to liquid for heavier coverage. I would use lightening/ Brightening products like Shesiedo, and Lemon juice but my acne got worst. Even using acne cleansers like Murad and Clean&Clear just didn't help. They dried my skin and made my break out worst.
Now I'm in my late 20s and I started using Retinol Products, It's helping my skin a bit with lighting scars and decreasing acne, but i still get some. I realize I can't use exfoliating products like scrubs or glycolic or Salicylic acid on my face. But I know I need a deep cleanser or something to get the grim and oil out. I hope I win so i can try one of these electric brushes! If I win please contact me thru twitter and I'll send my email. @Minimisfit

  175. I have struggled with my skin all my life. Its oily, it breaks out, everything I have tried doesn't work for long. I've reached a "giving up" point. Nothing I use seems to be consistent enough to minimize mypores, prevent black heads and acne. I have hyper pigmentation also. Ineed some type of miracle It would mean alot to me if I won this giveaway. I've thought about trying Clarisonic but its currently out of my budget. Joy mzcaramelshugah@gmail.com

  178. I have had acne since I was a pre-teen. It has basically controlled my life. Things would work for a bit and then stop. It's horrifying to have people walk up to you and say OMG WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR FACE.....

  179. My acne isn't that bad, but my skin is awful. I have truly combination skin, but it's not just oily here, dry here, it's extremely oily here, extremely dry and patchy, flaky here. I also have large pores, so I sweat very easily and I get shiny within the first few hours of the day. But I have dry patches, so I can't just use a ton of powder or makeup for oily skin, because it dries ou my already dry patches. Exfoliation regularly has been my savior, and a clarsonic would help that greatly.

  180. To put it bluntly, I am in my mid-50's and ever since giving birth to
both of our wonderful sons in my 30's, my hormones and acne have been
worse, than when I was a teenager! I have fallen prey to almost every
kind of skincare line that is available. They may work for awhile and
my face goes right back to being its' old self!
Many thanks for this marvelous opportunity.....

  181. I am in my mid-thirties and am still having breakouts on a weekly basis. I currently have two cysts on my jawline which just won't go away. I have always wanted to try a clarisonic but have had a hard time justifying the cost.

  182. I am in my late 30's and never had acne/skin problems until after the birth of my second child. I have heard great things about the Clarisonic system and would love to have one for myself!

  183. I am in my early 40s, and my skin now looks worse than it ever dreamed of being when I was a teenager! So on top of dealing with acne, I am also struggling with fine lines and wrinkles -- ugh! My skin seems to have difficulty exfoliating, and I think a Clarisonic would be the perfect solution. Thank you for the chance!!

  184. I am in my early 20's and mildy suffered with acne throughout highschool. Now since my first child I can not control my face, I wash my face twice a day I do indian clay masks. I exfoliate. I can not catch a break, I'm very good about not touching my face with dirty hands so on and so forth. It all seems impossible. I have wanted to try one of these for a while it's just a bit spendy for a face cleanser that I don't even know will work. I am willing to become a believer.

  185. I have very sensitive skin and on top that I have severe adult acne. The Mia Clarisonic would be great for me because I am constantly breaking out. I have heard so much about this product.

  186. I must be young at heart because I still get acne like a teenager. I have a 3 month old baby and the hormone rush since giving birth hasn't been pretty. I would love a chance to try something new and hopefully help my poor pox marked face :)

  187. Thank you for the giveaway. Here's my acne story: I have lived in Colorado for 5 years now and the dry climate has sucked my face free of any moisture. it's so dry that my moisturizers just sit on top of the dry skin and I can't seem to get my skin to clear up. add to that the 35 year old "return of the zits" and it is a combo for disaster. Yikes!!!
I love your reviews on beauty products (the love notes make me bust up) and this one really got my attention.

  188. As a young 28 old year old lady living in lovely Columbus, Ohio :) I work 12 hour days in a hospital and after every shift my face in as greasy and oily as grandma's old skillet - unforturnately on some days I don't even have time to use the restroom when I need to let alone wash my face or use a face wipe quickly while on shift. This leaves me with zit balls on my face that like to stick around for days on end. Please help!

Well, my acne story pretty much lasts my whole life, because ever since I was a kid I have been struggling with this issue (and I'm approaching the big 30!) I've tried pretty much everything I can think of - various cleansers and treatments, moisturizer, no moisturizer, moisturizer on only certain areas of my face, oil-free, natural, non-natural, etc. etc. etc. :-) I would love to try this, I've heard such great things! My face, and all the people that have to look at my face, thank you for considering my entry in this giveaway! :-)

  190. I re-experienced acne when I hit my fifties and menopause. I couldn't have made it through without my Mia. I would like to win one for my daughter-in-law

  191. before baby #3, i worked in the skincare world, in the retail side of things. i worked for mostly 1 company, but had exposure to many many lines and products.
being pregnant throws my face/acne/oil production WAY out of wack. enter: pores filled with some nAsty stuff. i was able to use a clarisonic on loan for 2 weeks. what a difference. not only was my oil producing machine face totally slowed down, my pores were noticeably smaller, due to lack of goo in them. it's been on my i'll-be-so-good-and-never-ask-for-anything-again list since my baby girl was born in july.
perhaps i should have had my husband use it too. i'm sure he would have been sold.

  192. I would love to try this! I've always had issues with acne. I can't find anything to totally clear it up. And now that I'm in my 30s it just doesn't seem right to have to deal with wrinkles and acne at the same time! :)

  193. Both of my parents have terrible adult acne. I'm pretty much screwed...it would still be nice to try though!

  194. I feel like my face reflects the state of my life. Lot of hardship & stress, nagging pains that won't leave me alone even though I try hard not to mess with them. lol. I miss feeling pretty.

  195. I remember caking on the concealer because I would try to hide my zits as much as possible that I would have light spots all over my face. I remember a few guys making comments about it and I felt so dumb. I wish I never had to go through this. amypugmire@live.com

  196. I didn't really have a difficult time with acne during my teens and early 20s, but when I had my daughter, that's when I started to experience some adult acne. Luckily, it wasn't too severe but I definitely had to stay on top of my skincare routine. I also just recently found out that I had a thyroid problem, so the changes in my hormones didn't make things any better. After a few tries with different skincare products, I'm finally starting to see progress, but I'm still having trouble with blackheads around the nose area. Needless to say, winning this giveaway would be great!
