here is a makeup tutorial i created last year inspired by Mad Men. my makeup/fashion/beauty inspiration most often it comes in the form of television (once my children are nestled all snug in their beds of course). i can't help but love the clothing, makeup and set design of Mad Men. who doesn't love that era?!
makeup for that time period most commonly emphasizes strong eyeliner, a deep contour shade and heavily mascara'd lashes. here's my eye makeup step by step tutorial that this beauty blogger can't get enough of:
- apply matte eyeshadow to entire eyelid, preferably the color of vanilla.
- using a pencil brush, apply a dark mocha to crease of eyelid.
- follow with a shimmer shade applied to middle of eyelid and brow bone with a fluffy shadow brush for a highlighted effect.
