Think Onion, Fall Fashion Concept

while dressing yourself don't be afraid to layer your clothes. what often sets fashion magazines apart with their styling is the ability to layer clothes in a way that is not only flattering, but innovative. while layering can be done year round, autumn and winter fashions really rely on them.

Target's Fall Premiere provides some excellent examples of this. check out the amount of clothing the women are wearing; shirt, dress, cardigan, and belt.

above are photos from JCrews Fall 2010 look book. notice the amount of layers used and the dimension it creates.

your assignment, if you choose to accept, is to head to your closets and pull out your own ensemble of layers. be creative, be innovative, and take a bit of a risk. while keeping it simple is easy and often chic, leave your comfort zone for a minute and try something new. think onion.

  1. I love, love, love to layer! (just not always so great at pulling it off nicely ;)

  2. I'd love to see a quick tutorial on you putting together an outfit from your own closet. It seems the only way I can layer is if I buy the complete outfit right off the manequin. But I'm not a size 3. More like a 14/16.
