Fashion Friday Get The Look

this week i am sharing my kiddos holiday wear and how you can get the look. i was given the opportunity to head to my local Sears and pick up some key pieces for my children's holiday wardrobe. i am a huge fan of separates for children as mixing and matching is essential - otherwise i find it completely impractical to buy a top that can only be worn with one pair of leggings.

one of my favorite things about the Sears children's clothing is that they have a large selection of mix and match shirts, leggings and accessories which made the shopping so simple. the only problem i had was deciding what NOT to buy!

i wanted to add pieces to their wardrobes that they could dress up or dress down, whether we were playing in the park or heading to a party they would have something cute, current and practical. for the girls i selected a new pair of boots that would look adorable with jeans or leggings and would also keep their legs snug & warm for when they paired them with a dress. the adorable zebra print leggings were part of a collection of mix & match items and i found a top to match for each girl. the faux fur shawls were my favorite addition and can be thrown on over sweaters, jackets or dresses. adding the shawls to their playwear is playful and adding them to a dress makes it divine.

for my oldest son i am a major proponent of the casual cool. the plaid shirt is an essential winter item; it can be worn with jeans, dress pants, cargos. tuck it in, leave it out, roll the sleeves or pop the collar - that is about as exciting as it gets with boys. i found a striped thermal that is thick enough to be worn over the top of the collared shirt and still thin enough to be worn underneath as well. two shirts, lots of combos. the hat was selected to give him a little attitude and is reversible, allowing it to be worn multiple ways.

after dressing them up in their new duds we headed outdoors to take some pictures for this year's Christmas cards. wouldn't you love getting these adorable faces in the mail?!

an added benefit to shopping is Sears is the Shop Your Way Rewards. when you sign up for the SYW program you earn rewards for every dollar that you spend. i raked in a decent amount of rewards from today's haul and i'm already visualizing how i will spend those rewards on my next visit.
